Bullies, Parasites and Slaves:

Replacing EXPLOITATION with MUTUAL CARE

The simple goal of the book and this site is to help all of us to see the foundational causes of our world’s divisions, its miseries and poor decision-making, and then offer real hope – clear steps that can be taken by any and all of us, together, to create a healthy, prosperous, thriving culture of mutual care, a country and a world where no one is excluded, exploited, or left behind.

And so…

This site contains excerpts from the Bullies book and the many sources that substantiate its histories, insights, analysis, and strategies for our future. The excerpts are just teasers, to give a sense of the content, but you’ll likely need all of it, start to finish, to reach the full import and application.

That said, it is a pretty quick and engaging read, filled with real-life examples and true stories that illustrate its message and hope. If you cannot afford to purchase the book, it is available to you for free. Click GET-THE-BOOK.

PLEASE READ THIS BRIEF
INTRODUCTION.

It will help make sense of it all:

http://www.BPS.online is a resource site for you, beyond just a place to buy the Bullies book. In a culture flooded by angry opinions from across the political spectrum, with news and history that is often made up to reinforce those opinions, it seemed good to us to establish a resource committed to accuracy, integrity and truth-telling, to give us a common, solid foundation.

The actual goal is to help us create a culture where we treat each other, everyone, with fairness and kindness, with mutual care.

Is that naïve?

Perhaps. But, bluntly, how is the current culture working, where some openly take advantage of others? Where some live in luxury while others struggle to eat or stay warm?

The first temptation in reading these hard questions is to retreat into our political, economic and philosophical silos, and begin slinging opinions at each other. And belittling each other: Communist. Fascist. Heretic. Fool. Or worse.

It is exhausting, isn’t it?

Seriously, it is time to change our language, morality and methods. So there are two resources here, imperfect and evolving: BPS.online and MutualCare.online.

BPS.online—where you are now—is a large and growing resource of documents and substantive history that underpin the book Bullies, Parasites and Slaves: Replacing Exploitation with Mutual Care.

The format of Bullies is pretty simple: Stealing is bad. Uncover it and stop it. Sharing is good. Here’s how we do it.

The first part of Bullies walks us through the stories of what has gone wrong over history, and which still persists today. It identifies the causes of our current miseries not just with allegation, but with substance: Lay it out in plain sight. Shine light on it so we can see the thefts, flaws and mistakes. You won’t like this part very much, but it is important to understand it. We can’t fix something we don’t understand.

The second part begins to lay out a practical fix, in morality, culture, law and government. Not an intangible theory or an impractical ideal, not partisan posturing, but substantive changes we can begin to put in place—a step at a time—that will begin to repair what isn’t working, and provide a better, more productive and kinder culture for us, together. You will like this part better. There is hope. We can do it. You’ll see.

The goal of the book is to give all of us a common insight into how we broke it, and how to fix it. Practical, substantive steps. Not ideology and anger, not political allegiance, but mutual care applied in the way we build our future together, in our culture, leadership, laws, education, and common life.

Honestly, this will be more convincing if you just read it through from the beginning to the end. It isn’t long, but it will be compelling, we promise. Read the reviews (above) or on Amazon, if you’re wary or just want a better sense of the substance before you dive in. But do dive in. You’ll be thankful that you did.

MutualCare.online is a yoked online site, also evolving, to connect needs with resources. Because our world remains unbalanced, there are serious needs that are unmet. Yet there are also abundant resources that could help meet those needs, if only the two could be connected to each other. Go there for a fuller explanation.

Both sites are growing, and we welcome your insights and suggestions for their improvement and usability. We can do this.

If you cannot afford to purchase the Bullies book, it is available to you for free. Either way: GET-THE-BOOK. Read it. Share it. Start right now. Please.

Chapter Excerpts from the Book

Simply Put—What This Book Is About

We need a hard reset on who we are—and who we allow to lead us. Bullies and parasites are those in our neighborhoods and nations who steal from others and reduce them to slaves. They exploit lives to subsidize their own. This happens in dictatorship and democracy. In...

About the Author

I hate that I live in a world where I must write this book. I hate that this book needs to be written. I dearly hope that by reading this book, you’ll see what to hate—and halt it. And also see what to do, and do it, for each other, for our future together. I wrote...

Mother of Exiles

If we are to free each other from slavery, in all its forms and disguises, we must be clear-eyed about our own vulnerabilities. Bullies and parasites rely on them to keep us in our place—especially our fear of the other, our instinctive reactions to the unfamiliar,...

What You Can Do Now

What You Can Do Now Bullies and Parasites Recognize that some take and hoard by force and deception. Call them what they are: bulliesand parasites. Stop honoring or celebrating them—in history or today. If you are one, stop. If you see one, expose it. Refuse to go...

The Need for Coordinated Action

Throughout history, there have always been bullies—those who stole and hoarded the abundance of others for their own gain. But for all their self-glory, every one of them and their kingdoms fell and were replaced. Predators get consumed by other predators. They are...

How to Train Up True Leaders

Bully leaders sacrifice others to benefit themselves—through ambition, theft, self-flattery, conquest, revenge and cruelty. True leaders sacrifice of themselves to benefit others—giving their talents, resources—sometimes even their lives. They model what it is to care...

Upholding Democracy

The revolutionary idea of democracy was that people got a vote in who led them and what standards they would agree to. Consent of the governed. There have always been smaller and limited versions of this in history, but applying it to large populations over wide...

The Model of Authority in Mutual Care

Every new regime comes dressed in new language and promises of fairness and “a new day ahead”—but it’s often the same old structure with new bullies at the top. Those who promise to be ruthless for you will be ruthless to you once they gain power. The real failure of...

Authority – Who Is in Charge?

I suspect most of us don’t give authority much thought—until it fails us. We tend to assume those in charge will do the right thing, and we only notice when they don’t. Some of us seek positions of authority, some claim them without consent, some threaten or beat...
